Overview
The mission of VCU Oral Diagnostic Sciences is to teach, conduct research, diagnose, manage, and provide care of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions. We do this through the following ADA–recognized specialties: Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Orofacial Pain, and Oral Medicine.
The practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology correlates clinical information, radiographic imaging, and microscopic findings to determine a disease diagnosis.
Our specialists and staff offer a unique blend of education, advanced imaging technology and excellence in patient care guided by VCU school of Dentistry’s mission.
Orofacial Pain is a newly recognized ADA specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and management of pain disorders in the jaw, mouth, face, head, and neck.
Oral Medicine is also a newly recognized ADA specialty that integrates medicine and dentistry to promote optimal health.
